Ensus To Be In Production By Christmas

A report by Reuters quotes Ensus chief executive Alwyn Hughes as saying that Europe's largest bioethanol refinery will finally be in production "by Christmas".

Full capacity should then be reached sometime in the first quarter of 2010, he says.

Another thing of interest the report throws up is that bioethanol capacity at the plant could be ramped up, from the current planned output of 400-450 million litres per annum, to 600 million.

That of course will be dependent on long-term government support for the industry and commodity market conditions, but would potentially push up the plant's wheat requirement to around 1.5 MMT a year.
